This is Archived Light, a collection of images from the places around the world I have visited, lived, or been fortunate enough to stumble across on my travels. Sometimes you can go looking for an image, sometimes they can find you when you least expect it. There are moments when the light is just right and the moment is worth saving, to look back on from another time. These images serve as a visual reminder, for me to look back at the small part of the world I have been lucky enough to see.

Photography has been a part of my life since I was very young, from the automatic film cameras and toy cameras of my childhood to the Fuji and Canon digital cameras I use now. I have always tried to incorporate photography into my life and hobbies, from music to trail running to travel. The act of photography is part planning, part knowledge, part equipment and part luck, but the art of photography is about memory, circumstance and a desire to capture something more than just a physical representation of a moment. We take more photos on a daily basis but we rarely stop to consider which are important. This project is an endeavour to pick out the important moments from the mundane, creating a digital version of the photo album nobody makes any more.
