Outside the small country town of Mudgee sits Avisford Nature Reserve. I had a layover in Mudgee and it seemed like a good place to find some trails to run. Buried along the trails I found wallabies, gumtrees and a communications compound that set off sirens when I got too close. And up in the hills I found the view. Green below blue, like so many others, but perfectly unique. From the shadowed folds of the hills down to the leaf on every gumtree. A thousand other people could have stood on the same spot but they wont have seen the same view as I did. That one, for that moment, was mine.
